This is how we decide what goes on the site and how it is written. Our sourcing and verification rules are separate and live on the methodology page.

Who writes here

Every article carries a named author and a Last verified date. Nothing is published anonymously, and nothing carries a byline for someone who did not work on it.

How articles are written

  • The answer comes first. The sentence after a heading answers that heading’s question. We do not open with background, restate the question, or explain what the article will explain.
  • One claim per sentence, stated plainly. Where a fact is established, we state it without hedging. Where it is not, we say which part is uncertain rather than hedging the whole paragraph.
  • Numbers are exact. We publish ₦13,595, not “about ₦13,000”. Where a figure genuinely varies, such as a JUPEB centre fee, we say what drives the variation.
  • Every article follows the candidate’s real sequence, from eligibility through registration, cost, subjects, the exam itself, grading, results, certificate and remedies. The same order for every examination, so you always know where to look.

Independence

We are funded by advertising. Advertisers have no input into what we publish, no advance sight of articles, and no ability to have content changed or removed.

We do not accept payment for coverage, for a recommendation, or for a link. We do not publish sponsored posts dressed as guides. We do not accept paid placement from tutorial centres, JUPEB or IJMB centres, or anyone selling registration services.

What we refuse to publish

  • Examination malpractice material of any kind: expo, runs, “answers”, or links to anyone selling them. These are fraud, and where they are not fraud they get results cancelled.
  • Result upgrade services. There is no legitimate route to changing a grade after release.
  • Difficulty rankings between examination bodies. The only comparable data is pass rates across different cohorts and syllabi, which does not support the claim.
  • Leaked or unverified timetables and questions circulating ahead of an examination.
  • Agent sites presented as official portals. Where we link to an examination body, it is the body’s real domain.

Writing for young readers

Much of our audience is between thirteen and twenty-two, and many are making a financial decision on behalf of a family that cannot afford a mistake. We write for them directly, without talking down, and we are explicit about costs and deadlines because those are the things that cause real harm when they are vague.

Comments

Comments are open and moderated before they appear. We remove anything advertising malpractice services, anything sharing another person’s examination number or personal details, and abuse. We do not remove comments simply because they disagree with us or point out that we are wrong.
